Commissions

  • Cigar, spirits and tailoring brands, and private portraits. Campaign, product and editorial work, shot and graded in one place. Fashion and editorial sits under The Atelier.

  • Half day from £1,500. Full day from £2,750. Campaign and multi-day work is priced to the project. Send the brief and you get a considered number rather than a rate card.

  • Yes. Every tobacco and alcohol brief is shot with the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002 and the Portman Group Code in mind, so there is little for your compliance team to unpick. Where the image finally runs remains your call.

  • Yes. Shot in CLog3 and graded in DaVinci Resolve, in the same language as the stills.

Private sittings

  • The Portrait, £350: one hour, one location, five finished images. The Editorial, £750: three hours, wardrobe and location agreed beforehand, ten finished images. The Production, from £1,800: concept, crew and a treatment you approve. Additional images are £45 each.

  • You write with a rough idea. I come back with an era, a location and a wardrobe note. We shoot. A photograph of you is easy. A portrait takes the hour where you stop performing, so the first twenty minutes are usually the warm-up.

  • Not without your written word. Nothing from a private sitting appears on this site, my channels or in a pitch unless you say so, and you can withdraw that at any time.

  • Yes. Bring one and we will work with it, or let me suggest one. London still has plenty of rooms that look like 1962 if you know where to look.

Where and when

  • London, mostly. Georgian streets, lounges, bars and rooms with practical light. Travel beyond London is quoted before the shoot and never added afterwards.

  • A commission runs brief, treatment, approval, shoot. A sitting is simpler. A note, a date, a room, a gallery. Fifty per cent holds the date either way.

  • A private sitting arrives in a private gallery within fourteen days. Commission dates are set in the treatment and agreed before anyone picks up a camera.

The images

  • Brand commissions carry usage licensed to the channels, territories and term agreed, quoted alongside the shoot. Further usage can be licensed later. Private sittings carry a personal licence to print and to share. Copyright stays with me either way.

  • Yes, before the shoot rather than after it. Colour, era and mood belong in the treatment, where they can still shape how the day is lit.

  • No. The grade is the work. Everything is finished in house, warm monochrome, film grain, deep shadow, and delivered ready to run.

Getting started

  • Five things. The product or the collection. Who it is for. Where the images will run. Timing. A budget range. That is enough to come back with a treatment.

  • Yes. Send the deck and I will write to it. If there is no deck yet, send the product and I will write the first one.
