1. Who these terms cover
These terms apply to every brand commission and private sitting booked with OutlinedUnltd. Booking a shoot means you accept them. Where a signed agreement or an approved treatment says something different, that document takes precedence.
2. What is offered
Campaign, product and editorial photography, videography and creative direction for brands. Private portrait and editorial sittings for individuals. Anything outside that is by separate agreement.
3. Booking and payment
Private sittings: fifty per cent to hold the date, the balance due before the shoot begins.
Brand commissions: fifty per cent on approval of the treatment, the balance within fourteen days of delivery.
The holding fee is non-refundable. It secures a date I have turned other work away for.
Payment by bank transfer or against an invoice.
4. Moving or cancelling a date
Rescheduling is free with five clear days’ notice. Inside five days it depends on whether the date can be filled.
Cancel within seventy-two hours of the shoot and the holding fee is kept.
If I cancel, for any reason, everything you have paid is returned in full.
5. Delivery
Private sittings are delivered to a private gallery within fourteen days of the shoot.
Commission delivery dates are set in the treatment and agreed before a frame is shot.
Peak periods can add time. You will be told before you book, not afterwards.
6. Editing
Every frame is graded in-house, in the style the work is known for. That style is what you are commissioning.
Specific grade or retouch requirements are welcome, agreed in the treatment before the shoot rather than after it.
No RAW or unedited files are supplied.
Delivered images must not be re-edited, re-cropped, filtered or otherwise altered without written permission.
7. Copyright and usage
Copyright in every image and film remains with OutlinedUnltd.
Brand commissions: you receive a licence for the channels, territories and term agreed and quoted with the shoot. Further usage can be licensed at any time.
Private sittings: you receive a personal licence to print and share your images. Commercial use is by separate agreement.
A credit is always appreciated and never required.
8. Showing the work
Brand commissions: the work may appear in my portfolio, on my channels and in pitches once the campaign is live, unless you set an embargo date in writing.
Private sittings: nothing is published without your written permission. That covers this website, my social channels and any pitch.
Permission can be withdrawn in writing at any time, and the images will be removed from anything I control.
9. Tobacco, spirits and regulated products
Work for tobacco and alcohol brands is shot with the Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002 and the Portman Group Code in mind. Anything in a brief likely to cause your compliance team a problem will be raised before the shoot.
Final responsibility for where an image runs, and whether that placement is lawful, rests with you.
10. Locations and permissions
You are responsible for securing permission to shoot at any location you propose. If access is refused on the day and the shoot cannot go ahead, the full fee remains payable.
Locations I propose are cleared by me.
11. Travel and expenses
London is included. Travel beyond it, parking, congestion charges, permits, props and any crew beyond me are quoted before the shoot and never added afterwards.
12. On the day
Wardrobe, props and any talent are agreed in advance.
A late start does not extend the day.
13. Liability
In the unlikely event that images are lost or damaged before delivery, liability is limited to a full refund of the fee paid or a reshoot, at your choice.
I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
14. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The version published here at the time of your booking is the one that applies to it.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
